Hamilton Prop House is a working film studio that opens its doors to the public as a café, bar, and creative space. Located at 422 Barton Street East in Hamilton, Ontario, HPH is home to over 20 CineMini film sets, vintage seating vignettes, and miniatures from productions like CBC's Best in Miniature.
Founded by Simon Winterson of Digital Canaries in July 2024, Hamilton Prop House was born from a simple idea: the magic of film sets shouldn't disappear when the cameras stop rolling. Instead of tearing down sets after production wraps, HPH gives them a second life — inviting the public to walk through, sit down, and experience the worlds that filmmakers have built.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Sets and props from local film and television productions are repurposed into immersive public spaces. The train car where you order your coffee, the bar where you sip your cocktail, the 1950s diner booth where you sit with friends — they all started as pieces of a story on screen.
